God’s Child – How I Survived Trauma and Turned Tragedy into Truimph

A poster from a social media group recently asked, “on a scale of 1-7 what are your beliefs according to the Dawkins Scale?” I thought initially, “why is this today’s discussion?” I’m definitely a 1, I believe strongly in God and know without Him I am nothing. I’ve survived so much trauma in life: CHILD ABUSE, RAPE, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, and WAR. It’s because of God’s grace that I survived and turned Tragedy into Triumph!

There have been multiple times when I questioned God and asked why He would allow so much hurt in my life? After I was raped at the tender age of 15, I turned away from God for the first time. I’ve learned without God as my center, my life spirals out of control. Sure I could have chose to hate God and hate those who hurt me. Instead, I chose love. One day at my lowest point I literally dropped to my knees and prayed. I asked God to use me as his vessel to help others heal.

Once I FINALLY started living my life God’s way I’ve been abundantly blessed. I started my non-profit “The Next Chapter,” to provide much needed resources to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. I recently co-authored a book with my Veteran Sisters titled “Camouflaged Sisters Presents Behind the Ranks Vol I,” to share our stories. I joined my Veteran Sisters who are “Own Our Way Up,” and “Brown Girls Syndicate” in two Mastermind Groups to push our businesses, professional and personal lives forward. Finally, I launched two of my newest ventures “Simply Ebony” my lifestyle blog and “Success Creators” to help others discover their pathway to success. Everything that I have accomplished in life is because of God’s Grace.

Sincerely,

Simply Ebony

#JusticeForShadowMcClaine

#JusticeForShadowMcClaine This story truly breaks my heart. There are too many silent victims of domestic violence who have reached out for help yet their cries fall on deaf ears. There are too many murdered victims killed at the hands of their abusers. Shadow McClaine, a Fort Campbell soldier, was viciously sexually assaulted and murdered by her ex-husband SGT. Jamal Williams-McCray and his accomplice SPC Charles Robinson. McClaine originally went missing on September 2, 2016. Family and friends launched a tireless campaign to convince the Army to open an investigation and conduct a search to find her. McClaine’s skeletal remains were found earlier this year at the Maxey Road exit off Interstate 24, in Clarksville, Tennessee. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Multiple charges have been filed against Williams-McCray and Robinson for the murder of McClaine, according to Fort Campbell officials. The two suspects are held in pre-trial confinement pending the outcome of the court-martial charges that include the following: Article 134 – kidnapping, Article 81 – conspiracy, and Article 118 – premeditated murder, under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). In addition, Williams-McCray has been charged with sexual assault, aggravated assault, and obstruction of justice. The preliminary hearing for all of the charges will be held later in the month.

Chris Brown Brags About Stalking

This is extremely disturbing. Chris Brown aka. Breezy posted a video on Instagram and told women everywhere, “Ladies, y’all be complaining about n***** being, like, stalkers and in love with y’all, kinda crazy and s*** and you get tired of it. Well, guess what? I’m one of them n*****! If I love you, b****, ain’t nobody gonna have you. I’m gonna make you miserable. I’m going to chase that n**** out and I’m gonna chase yo ass around, and it’s done.” To watch the original video that Chris Brown posted click here: https://mobile.twitter.com/twerkinonbreezy/status/826568874548133890?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

Listen as a woman that has had a man go crazy and stalk me this video is disturbing. There’s nothing cool about being afraid to go to work or home. He’s a proud abuser and stalker. Ladies/Fellas have you ever had a man/woman stalk you? What did you do? How did it make you feel? Have you ever admittedly stalked someone?

What does domestic violence look like? This woman Angela was a victim of human trafficking at the hands of her ex-boyfriend. She decided to leave. Her ex-boyfriend brutally attacked her with a metal nightstick from head to toe. He beat her severely, destroyed her laptop, took her phone and her money, and left her for dead.

Recent news coverage shows her abuser in court crying over his sentencing. He cared more about being locked away for his horrific actions than about the life of Angela. This is what Domestic Violence looks like.

Have you or someone close to you experienced domestic violence? Please share your story or inbox me to anonymously share your story. Leave words of encouragement for survivors.
